Use our free and fast online tool to convert your DAE (COLLADA - Collaborative Design Activity) 3D model file into a PNG (Portable Network Graphics) image file ready to download. Once the model has been loaded you will be presented with a real-time 3D rendering of the model which you will be able to rotate, zoom and pan into the perfect position prior to capturing a screenshot for download.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your DAE to PNG.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your DAE file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the DAE to PNG conversion has completed, you can download your PNG file straight away.
We aim to process all DAE to PNG conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the DAE file you submit to us. The resulting PNG file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our DAE to PNG tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Full Name: COLLADA - Collaborative Design Activity
Type: 3D Model
Mime Type: text/xml
The DAE format (also known as COLLADA) is a 3D file format used to describe 3D models, meshes and 3D worlds using a simple text based structure. The format was introduced in 2004 by Sony Computer Entertainment and is currently managed by the Khronos Group.
DAE files are a text/Xml based file format containing 3D geometric information used to describe 3D objects and meshes such as vertices, faces, animations, materials, camera/lighting elements and other related metadata. The format has widespread usage and support with applications such as Blender and MeshLab being able to read and write to the format.
If your DAE file contains textures (which are separate files), these will be ignored. If a material contains color information this will be translated where possible.
Full Name: Portable Network Graphics
Mime Type: image/png
The PNG graphics file format is a commonly used format for storing 2D images which can be highly compressed by the use a palette if the image has a sufficiently low number of colors (256 colors in general). The PNG file is then further compressed using the DEFLATE compression algorithm to ensure small file sizes that are fast to download.
PNG files are seen as the logical successor to the GIF image file format and was devised in the mid-1990's as a superior format to GIF. PNG files are generally used for company logos, icons and other non-photographic image content. Saving a digital photo in the PNG format will create a much larger file than an equivalent JPG image hence the PNG format being unsuitable for most digital photo content.
