Our tool lets you upload a KTX (Khronos Texture) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the PNG (Portable Network Graphics) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple KTX image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting KTX image files to PNG, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single KTX file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a grayscale filter to the image, turning any color image into a grayscale image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.

A KTX file is an image file format created by the Khronos Group as a means to store detailed texture images in a highly compact format. The format can store single textures, mipmap textures, cubemap textures, and more.
The image information within the KTX file is stored in a compressed and lossless format, enabling large textures to be saved with a minimal file size compared to other image formats such as PNG.

The PNG graphics file format is a commonly used format for storing 2D images, which can be highly compressed by the use of a palette if the image has a sufficiently low number of colors (256 colors in general). The PNG file is then further compressed using the DEFLATE compression algorithm to ensure small file sizes that are fast to download.
PNG files are seen as the logical successor to the GIF image file format and was devised in the mid-1990s as a superior format to GIF. PNG files are generally used for company logos, icons, and other non-photographic image content. Saving a digital photo in the PNG format will create a much larger file than an equivalent JPG image, hence the PNG format being unsuitable for most digital photo content.

Yes, of course! We do not store the KTX file you submit to us. The resulting PNG file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.

Yes. When you have converted your KTX to PNG, there is a "Feedback" option that you can use to let us know of any issues you encountered when converting your file.
Yes! Our KTX tool supports full batch conversions. You can upload up to 25 and KTX files at a time. Our tool will convert them all as quickly as possible. Once completed, you can either download the PNG files individually or download them all in a single ZIP file.
