Here we detail how to convert your 123DX file to an WRL file using the export options found within the 123D Design application. Currently our converters cannot convert directly from 123DX to WRL, however using the built-in export functions of 123D Design we can achieve the conversion.
Firstly, you will need to load your 123DX file into 123D Design and select the export to STEP option. Once you have your file in the STEP format you can use our STEP to WRL converter to complete the conversion process.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your 123DX to WRL.
Use our STEP to WRL converter to complete the conversion
We aim to process all 123DX to WRL conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features and improvements being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the 123DX file you submit to us. The resulting WRL file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our 123DX to WRL tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Yes. Although you can use an Ad Blocker, if you like our 123DX conversion tool please consider white-listing our site. When an Ad Blocker is enabled there are some conversion limits on some of our tools and processing/conversion times will be longer.
|Full Name||Autodesk 123D|
Autodesk 123DX, which was initially released in 2009 whose native file format was 123DX, was an easy to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) application aimed at home/hobbyist users for creating 3D models.
The 123DX application was retired in 2016 with users moving on to the more advanced Fusion 360 application from Autodesk.
The WRL file format is a 3D based model format originally created in the 1990's which was aimed at website usage. The format is text based and contains 3D geometry data such as vertices, faces, simple shapes and material information and more.
This format when launched was hoped to become a standard 3D format, however due to the large file sizes it didn't see wide spread adoption although it is a supported format within some CAD software applications. It was later superseded by the X3D file format which shares most of the functionality of WRL files.
WRL files support material and color information. If your uploaded model contains color information our tool will attempt to save this in the WRL file at the end of the conversion process. Texture information is not supported at this time.
