Create 3D animations with our easy-to-use and free tool. Our tool lets you upload a X3D (Extensible 3D Graphics) 3D model file, and from this, create an animated GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) file that you can then download and share without the need for any complex 3D modeling software.
Our X3D to GIF animation tool includes options to adjust the camera position within the 3D world, set the resolution of the generated GIF file, and, if your X3D file contains any animations, allow you to set the animation to play. To get started, please click the Upload button and select your X3D file.
Here are three simple steps to create an GIF file from a X3D file.

The X3D file format was introduced in 2002 as a successor to the 3D VRML (WRL) file format. X3D files contain 3D mesh and model information defined using vertices, faces, normals, and material data, making them broadly as capable as the older VRML format.
X3D files are structured XML text-based files that allow full 3D scenes to contain models comprised of 3D mesh data and other simple shapes. There are browser extensions that allow X3D files to be directly embedded within HTML to allow rendering directly to a web page; however, the format has not seen widespread adoption.
If your X3D file contains textures, these will be ignored. If a material contains color information, this will be translated where possible.

GIF files have been around since the mid-to-late 1980's and were introduced by CompuServe as a way to compress color images into small file sizes suitable for downloading, at which time most download speeds were limited. The format allows varying-size color palettes of up to 256 colors in total to be defined from a palette of 16 million colors.
Later on, the ability to add animations to the GIF file format was added. GIF files became a popular image file format for the early internet due to their small size, large color palette, and animation capabilities, and they are still popular today.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your X3D file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the X3D to GIF conversion has completed, you can download your GIF file straight away.
We aim to process all X3D to GIF conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features and improvements being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the X3D file you submit to us. The resulting GIF file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
No. All our conversion tools process your X3D file on our dedicated conversion servers, meaning you can use our tools on low-spec computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices and receive your converted GIF file quickly.
