Our free and fast tool will convert most 3D mesh or VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) model files to a standard SKP (SketchUp) file that can then be edited further in most popular 3D editing packages such as Blender or 3D printed without any further processing.
To convert your VRML file click the Upload button above and select the file to convert. Once selected, the file will be converted to a SKP file and will ready for download shortly afterwards. For more information about the VRML to SKP conversion process see the conversion information section below for more information.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your VRML to SKP.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your VRML file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the VRML to SKP conversion has completed, you can download your SKP file straight away.
We aim to process all VRML to SKP conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features and improvements being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the VRML file you submit to us. The resulting SKP file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our VRML to SKP tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Yes. Although you can use an Ad Blocker, if you like our VRML conversion tool please consider white-listing our site. When an Ad Blocker is enabled there are some conversion limits on some of our tools and processing/conversion times will be longer.

The VRML file format is a 3D based model format originally created in the 1990's which was aimed at website usage. The format is text based and contains 3D geometry data such as vertices, faces, simple shapes and material information and more.
This format when launched was hoped to become a standard 3D format, however due to the large file sizes it didn't see wide spread adoption although it is a supported format within some CAD software applications. It was later superseded by the X3D file format which shares most of the functionality of VRML files.
If your VRML file contains textures, these will be ignored. If a material contains color information this will be translated where possible.
The SKP 3D file format is the native file format used by SketchUp. The SketchUp application which was released back in 2000 is still going strong today, allows users to create detailed 3D graphics models.
SketchUp is popular amongst architectural designers, games developers and other professionals and hobbyist users. The SKP format can be opened with the SketchUp application.
Any model converted to the SKP format will be stored in a triangulated mesh format.
