Create compressed ZIP files with our easy to use and free tool. Our tool lets you upload a VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) file and compress and convert this file to a ZIP (ZIP Archive) file that you can then download and edit/use within your applications.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your VRML to ZIP.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your VRML file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the VRML to ZIP conversion has completed, you can download your ZIP file straight away.
We aim to process all VRML to ZIP conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features and improvements being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the VRML file you submit to us. The resulting ZIP file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our VRML to ZIP tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Yes. Although you can use an Ad Blocker, if you like our VRML conversion tool please consider white-listing our site. When an Ad Blocker is enabled there are some conversion limits on some of our tools and processing/conversion times will be longer.
Yes! Our VRML tool supports full batch conversions. You can upload up to 25 VRML files at a time. Our tool will convert them all as quickly as possible. Once completed, you can either download the ZIP files individually or download them all in a single ZIP file.

The VRML file format is a 3D based model format originally created in the 1990's which was aimed at website usage. The format is text based and contains 3D geometry data such as vertices, faces, simple shapes and material information and more.
This format when launched was hoped to become a standard 3D format, however due to the large file sizes it didn't see wide spread adoption although it is a supported format within some CAD software applications. It was later superseded by the X3D file format which shares most of the functionality of VRML files.
If your VRML file contains textures, these will be ignored. If a material contains color information this will be translated where possible.

The ZIP file is one of the most common types of compressed file types available and is widely used to compress any file type and give great compression results leading to smaller file sizes. ZIP files were originally released in 1989 and over time the format has received many revisions.
ZIP archives can contain any number of folders and files and can use many different compression algorithms to perform the file compression, though DEFLATE is the most common one in use. The format has built in support in many operating systems including Mac OS and Microsoft Windows.
