YUV files are image files whose image data consists of a stream of raw pixel data with no header information. As there is no way to automatically work out the image dimensions, the image size must be input prior to loading a YUV image in order for it to be displayed correctly.
Within an YUV file, image data is stored as a sequence of uncompressed Y, U, and V values used to represent each pixel, with the Y component representing the grayscale and the U and V values representing the color.
