Convert your TIF file to DXF

Create vector image files with our easy-to-use and free tool. Our tool lets you upload a TIF (Tag Image File Format) file and, from this, create a vector-based DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) file that you can then download and edit within vector file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. If you have multiple TIF files to convert, then our tool can also batch convert TIF files too. Currently, our tool supports up to 25 conversions at a time.

Options are available to specify or remove a background color if the source TIF image does not contain a transparent background. Our tool can attempt to determine the background color automatically, or you can manually specify the background color to remove.

How to Convert your TIF to DXF Online?

Here are three simple steps to create an DXF file from a TIF file.

Upload a TIF

Click the "Upload a File" button and select TIF to upload. The maximum file size is 100MB.

Select your Options

Set the dimensions and other options, and click the "Convert to DXF" button to convert your TIF to DXF.

Download your DXF

Click the download link once completed to receive your DXF file.

TIF to DXF Conversion Options

Mode

The Mode setting is used by the tool to inform it of the best way to vectorize the image by providing it with clues as to the type of image being submitted. The Auto mode attempts to find the most suitable settings for the image uploaded. There are, however, other options to help fine-tune this process, which we explain in more detail in the Tool Options section below.

Hole Reduction

With this setting, it is possible to reduce the inclusion of small holes within the final vector file caused by small, contrasting areas of the source TIF file, which can be useful in situations where the source image has not been optimized for use with the tool.

Merge Similar Colors

Use this value to merge similar colors; this is useful if the image is of low quality. A higher number can help reduce the effects of anti-aliasing in the TIF image.

Remove Background

When this option is enabled, the tool will automatically attempt to make the background of your image transparent.

Specify Color

Manually specify your image background color rather than our tool trying to automatically work it out.

Color

If the tool is unable to identify the background and you know the background color, you can specify it here.

Tolerance

This value can be adjusted to control the background removal tolerance. The higher the value, the more background is removed.

A higher value is useful for creating smoother results if your image is anti-aliased.
