Our tool lets you upload a PGM (Portable graymap format) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple PGM image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting PGM image files to JPG, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single PGM file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your PGM file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the PGM to JPG conversion has completed, you can download your JPG file straight away.

Yes, of course! We do not store the PGM file you submit to us. The resulting JPG file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.

Yes. When you have converted your PGM to JPG, there is a "Feedback" option that you can use to let us know of any issues you encountered when converting your file.
Yes! Our PGM tool supports full batch conversions. You can upload up to 25 and PGM files at a time. Our tool will convert them all as quickly as possible. Once completed, you can either download the JPG files individually or download them all in a single ZIP file.

The PGM file format is a bitmap image format used to store grayscale images in either a text or binary format. The text format, which is known as P2, enables easy manual editing of the image data due to it being stored in a human-readable format.
Greyscale data is stored within the file using values between 0 and 255; this gives 256 levels of gray, with 0 being black and 255 being white, and everything in between being a different shade of gray.
