Our tool lets you upload a JP2 (JPEG-2000) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple JP2 image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting JP2 image files to JPG, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single JP2 file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a grayscale filter to the image, turning any color image into a grayscale image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.

JP2 files are an enhancement to the JPEG format that offers additional compression options and better compression algorithms for your images.
With the JP2 format, it is now possible to store images in a lossless format. Previously, with JPEG files, compression was lossy only, meaning pixel data was removed to enhance file compression. With JP2, the image can be stored perfectly, with no loss of detail.
