Our tool lets you upload a DPX (Digital Picture Exchange) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the BMP (Bitmap Image File) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple DPX image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting DPX image files to BMP, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single DPX file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a grayscale filter to the image, turning any color image into a grayscale image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.

The DPX format, introduced in 1994, is an image format used mainly for visual effects and for storing digital intermediate work. The format is derived from the Kodak Cineon format, originally devised for use in digital cameras.
The format is most commonly used to store image color density data and is the chosen format for storing still frames for use in post-production work. The format is still used today, with the format receiving its latest update in 2018 and can be opened in some 3rd party image processing software.

The BMP file format is a two-dimensional image file format popular on Microsoft Windows operating systems. Data is stored in the BMP file in a raster format, with pixels being represented using various color depths ranging from monochrome 1-bit per pixel (bpp) to full color 24-bits per pixel.
The format can also contain an image alpha channel, which is typically 8 bits per pixel in size and is used to describe image transparency. BMP files can also optionally be compressed using a lossless compression algorithm, meaning smaller files with no loss of image quality.
