Convert your TGA to BMP image files with our easy-to-use and free tool. Our tool lets you upload a TGA (Truevision TGA) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the BMP (Bitmap Image File) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple TGA image files; up to 200 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting TGA image files to BMP, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available by selecting the Options button. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single TGA file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a black and white filter to the image, turning any color image into a black and white image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.
Add a sepia effect to your image using this option. The intensity can be adjusted using the slider control.

The TGA format was originally defined in 1984 by AT&T EPICenter and later became Truevision following a successful buyout. The format is a raster graphics format for use originally with high-end PC graphics cards intended for use in video editing, with the format mainly supporting NTSC and PAL video resolutions.
The format stores images in various levels of color depth, starting at 2-bits-per-pixel (bpp) all the way to 32-bit, where color would occupy 24-bits with the final 8-bits dedicated to the alpha channel. The format of the file is fairly simple compared to other formats of the time, such as BMP and TIFF.

The BMP file format is a two-dimensional image file format popular on Microsoft Windows operating systems. Data is stored in the BMP file in a raster format, with pixels being represented using various color depths ranging from monochrome 1-bit per pixel (bpp) to full color 24-bits per pixel.
The format can also contain an image alpha channel, which is typically 8 bits per pixel in size and is used to describe image transparency. BMP files can also optionally be compressed using a lossless compression algorithm, meaning smaller files with no loss of image quality.
