Our free and fast tool will convert most 3D mesh or XYZ (Point Cloud) model files to a standard OFF (Object File Format) file that can then be edited further in most popular 3D editing packages such as Blender or 3D printed without any further processing.
To convert your XYZ file click the Upload button above and select the file to convert. Once selected, the file will be converted to a OFF file and will ready for download shortly afterwards. For more information about the XYZ to OFF conversion process see the conversion information section below for more information.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your XYZ to OFF.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your XYZ file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the XYZ to OFF conversion has completed, you can download your OFF file straight away.
We aim to process all XYZ to OFF conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features and improvements being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the XYZ file you submit to us. The resulting OFF file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our XYZ to OFF tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.

|Full Name||Point Cloud|
|Type||3D Model/Point Cloud|
The XYZ is a 3D file format used for representing 3D Point Clouds. The format contains only positional information (X, Y, Z coordinates) for the individual points. The format is often used for digital elevation modelling of terrain for later processing in 3D modelling applications.
As the format only contains positional information a common task is to convert this into a fully surfaced 3D model using methods such as Alpha Shapes or Delaunay Triangulation. The format can also be viewed without further processing in its raw format.
The XYZ file format was designed to store vertex information only to allow the construction of simple Point Cloud models.
The OFF file format is a simple text-based format capable of storing 2D and 3D geometry and was originally developed for the Geomview application. There is also an extension to the OFF format used by the Stella4D application to enable storage of four-dimensional data.
The format can contain common vector information such as vertices, faces, shape, edge information and also has support for including color information. As the format is text based the files can become rather large with no built-in compression options available.
OFF files support per face color information. If your uploaded model contains color information our tool will attempt to save this in the OFF file at the end of the conversion process.
