Use our free and fast online tool to convert your AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) image or logo into 3D OBJ (Wavefront) mesh/model files suitable for printing with a 3D printer or for loading into your favourite 3D editing package.
Here are 3 simple steps to create an OBJ file from a AVIF file.
The AVIF image you upload can be any size, however our tool will resize it to a maximum of 600x600 pixels for normal users and for those who have paid for a premium subscription this is increased to a maximum of 1000x1000 pixels.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your AVIF file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the AVIF to OBJ conversion has completed, you can download your OBJ file straight away.
We aim to process all AVIF to OBJ conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features and improvements being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the AVIF file you submit to us. The resulting OBJ file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our AVIF to OBJ tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Yes. Although you can use an Ad Blocker, if you like our AVIF conversion tool please consider white-listing our site. When an Ad Blocker is enabled there are some conversion limits on some of our tools and processing/conversion times will be longer.
|Full Name||AV1 Image File Format|
The AVIF format is an image based container format designed to store image or image sequences which are compressed with the AV1 compression algorithm. The format has been around since 2019 and is based on the HEIF container format and as such it competes with the HEIC image format.
During tests the format has shown to perform better than JPG files not just in the reduced file size but in overall image quality. Support for the format is growing and is already supported in the Chrome and Firefox web browsers. AVIF files can also be opened in many 2D image editing applications.
The OBJ file format originally created by Wavefront Technologies and later adopted by many other 3D software vendors is a simple text-based file format for describing 3D model/geometry. This data can include Vertices, Faces, Normals, Texture Coordinates and references to external Texture files.
As the format is text-based it is relatively straight-forward to parse by 3D modelling applications. A downside of the text-based format is the files can be rather large compared to similar binary formats such as STL and compressed files such as 3MF.
Our tool does not currently support saving material or color information for OBJ files.
