Our tool lets you upload a KTX (Khronos Texture) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the TGA (Truevision TGA) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple KTX image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting KTX image files to TGA, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single KTX file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a grayscale filter to the image, turning any color image into a grayscale image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.

A KTX file is an image file format created by the Khronos Group as a means to store detailed texture images in a highly compact format. The format can store single textures, mipmap textures, cubemap textures, and more.
The image information within the KTX file is stored in a compressed and lossless format, enabling large textures to be saved with a minimal file size compared to other image formats such as PNG.

The TGA format was originally defined in 1984 by AT&T EPICenter and later became Truevision following a successful buyout. The format is a raster graphics format for use originally with high-end PC graphics cards intended for use in video editing, with the format mainly supporting NTSC and PAL video resolutions.
The format stores images in various levels of color depth, starting at 2-bits-per-pixel (bpp) all the way to 32-bit, where color would occupy 24-bits with the final 8-bits dedicated to the alpha channel. The format of the file is fairly simple compared to other formats of the time, such as BMP and TIFF.

Yes, of course! We do not store the KTX file you submit to us. The resulting TGA file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
