Our tool lets you upload a QOI (Quite OK Image Format) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the EXR (OpenEXR) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple QOI image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting QOI image files to EXR, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single QOI file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a grayscale filter to the image, turning any color image into a grayscale image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.

The QOI file format is a modern image format capable of storing full color (32-bit) images in a compact format, with file sizes of QOI files similar to those of a PNG file.
QOI files are designed first and foremost with encoding and decoding speed in mind. It is many times faster to encode or decode an image into the QOI format than other formats, such as PNG.

The EXR file format (OpenEXR) is an open-source and free image file format developed by Industrial Light & Magic in 1999. The format was originally developed to be a multi-channel, high-dynamic range raster image file format, which has evolved to include additional features over the years.
The format stores binary image data that can be either a 32-bit integer, a 16-bit integer, or a 32-bit floating point, which can also be compressed via a lossy or non-lossy compression method. The OpenEXR library is freely available to help developers implement the format in their applications.

Yes, of course! We do not store the QOI file you submit to us. The resulting EXR file, once created is deleted 15 minutes after upload and the download link will expire after this time.

Yes. Although you can use an Ad Blocker, if you like our QOI conversion tool please consider white-listing our site. When an Ad Blocker is enabled there are some conversion limits on some of our tools and processing/conversion times will be longer.
Yes. When you have converted your QOI to EXR, there is a "Feedback" option that you can use to let us know of any issues you encountered when converting your file.
Yes! Our QOI tool supports full batch conversions. You can upload up to 25 and QOI files at a time. Our tool will convert them all as quickly as possible. Once completed, you can either download the EXR files individually or download them all in a single ZIP file.
