XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language)

XAML, or Extensible Application Markup Language, to give it its full name, is the format used by several Microsoft technologies, including WPF, Silverlight, and more.

It is an XML-based format used for initializing structured objects at runtime by the likes of WPF and can also be a way to describe graphics entities.
