Our tool lets you upload a APNG (Portable Network Graphics) file and, from this, create a new image saved in the WEBP (WebP) format that you can then download and edit within image file editors or use for high-definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple APNG image files; up to 25 files at a time can be converted.
Along with converting APNG image files to WEBP, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects, such as applying a grayscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with grayscale, you can also mirror or flip the image if needed. For single APNG file uploads, you will also see options to resize and rotate your image.
This option can be used to rotate the image in 90° increments.
When selected, this option will flip the image vertically.
When selected, this option will mirror the image horizontally.
When checked, this will apply a grayscale filter to the image, turning any color image into a grayscale image.
When checked, this will apply a negative filter to the image, inverting all the colors within the image.

The APNG format is an extension of the well-known PNG graphics format, with the addition that, as well as being able to store the same compressed image data as regular PNG files, it can also store high-quality animations.
The ability to store animations in a higher quality than the traditional animated GIF format makes APNG files a great choice for storing animations in a modern format that has support amongst all the major web browsers.

The WebP format created to be a successor to the JPEG image file format features enhanced lossy compression, resulting in smaller files than a comparable JPEG file. The format also supports lossless compression and animations, making it possible to use it as an alternative to animated GIFs.
The format has its limitations, such as a maximum width of 16384 pixels. Support for displaying WebP images is well supported within most modern web browsers, with older browsers such as Internet Explorer requiring additional plugins to display the image content.

Yes, of course! We do not store the APNG file you submit to us. The resulting WEBP file, once created, is stored for 1 hour after upload; after this time it is deleted, and the short-term download link will stop working. You can create a long-term download Url with most tools that will ensure the file is retained for 24 hours, allowing you to download the file when convenient. Our tools also come with a Delete button, allowing you to delete the file immediately.
No. All our conversion tools process your APNG file on our dedicated conversion servers, meaning you can use our tools on low-spec computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices and receive your converted WEBP file quickly.
Yes! Our APNG to WEBP tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
