Our free and fast tool will convert most 3D mesh or SCAD (OpenSCAD) model files to a standard OFF (Object File Format) file that can then be edited further in most popular 3D editing packages such as Blender or 3D printed without any further processing.
To convert your SCAD file click the Upload button above and select the file to convert. Once selected, the file will be converted to a OFF file and will ready for download shortly afterwards. For more information about the SCAD to OFF conversion process see the conversion information section below for more information.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your SCAD to OFF.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your SCAD file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the SCAD to OFF conversion has completed, you can download your OFF file straight away.
We aim to process all SCAD to OFF conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the SCAD file you submit to us. The resulting OFF file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our SCAD to OFF tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Extension: SCAD
Full Name: OpenSCAD
Type: CAD
Mime Type: application/octet-stream
Format: Binary
The OpenSCAD file format or SCAD is the native file format of the popular free CAD software OpenSCAD used for creating 3D CAD models. The SCAD software is still in active development with new features being added with each version.
SCAD files are text based files containing script which allows the designer to describe the CAD model programmatically. SCAD files are then compiled to produce the final 3D render.
SCAD files when imported will be converted to 3D geometry comprising vertices and faces. If the SCAD file contains color information this will be converted where possible.
Extension: OFF
Full Name: Object File Format
Type: 3D Model
Mime Type: text/plain
Format: Text
The OFF file format is a simple text-based format capable of storing 2D and 3D geometry and was originally developed for the Geomview application. There is also an extension to the OFF format used by the Stella4D application to enable storage of four-dimensional data.
The format can contain common vector information such as vertices, faces, shape, edge information and also has support for including color information. As the format is text based the files can become rather large with no built-in compression options available.
OFF files support per face color information. If your uploaded model contains color information our tool will attempt to save this in the OFF file at the end of the conversion process.
