Our free and fast tool will convert most 3D mesh or OFF (Object File Format) model files to a standard WRL (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) file that can then be edited further in most popular 3D editing packages such as Blender or 3D printed without any further processing.
To convert your OFF file click the Upload button above and select the file to convert. Once selected, the file will be converted to a WRL file and will ready for download shortly afterwards. For more information about the OFF to WRL conversion process see the conversion information section below for more information.
Here are 2 simple steps to convert your OFF to WRL.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your OFF file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the OFF to WRL conversion has completed, you can download your WRL file straight away.
We aim to process all OFF to WRL conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the OFF file you submit to us. The resulting WRL file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our OFF to WRL tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.

The OFF file format is a simple text-based format capable of storing 2D and 3D geometry and was originally developed for the Geomview application. There is also an extension to the OFF format used by the Stella4D application to enable storage of four-dimensional data.
The format can contain common vector information such as vertices, faces, shape, edge information and also has support for including color information. As the format is text based the files can become rather large with no built-in compression options available.
The WRL file format is a 3D based model format originally created in the 1990's which was aimed at website usage. The format is text based and contains 3D geometry data such as vertices, faces, simple shapes and material information and more.
This format when launched was hoped to become a standard 3D format, however due to the large file sizes it didn't see wide spread adoption although it is a supported format within some CAD software applications. It was later superseded by the X3D file format which shares most of the functionality of WRL files.
If your OFF file contains face colors these will be imported and mapped where possible.
WRL files support material and color information. If your uploaded model contains color information our tool will attempt to save this in the WRL file at the end of the conversion process. Texture information is not supported at this time.
