Convert your DXF file to FAX

Convert image files with our easy to use and free tool. Our tool lets you upload a DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) file and from this, create a new image saved in the FAX (Group 3 FAX) format that you can then download and edit/use within image file editors or use for high definition printing applications. Our conversion tool can also batch convert multiple DXF image files, up to 25 files at a time can be converted.

Along with converting DXF image files to FAX, our tool allows you to also adjust the image with some simple effects such as applying a greyscale filter to the image. These additional options are available within the Options tab. Along with Greyscale, you can also mirror/flip the image if needed. Description

The DXF file format was first introduced in 1982 as part of Autodesk's AutoCAD software. DXF files were intended at the time to allow data interchange between AutoCAD and other CAD related applications. The format has evolved over the years with the most recent version coming in 2007.

DXF files can contain either text or binary content describing Blocks, Entities, Objects and other information using a "Tagging" system. The DXF format is still popular today and can be opened with most popular CAD applications.

DXF Notes

When imported, DXF files will be converted to 3D geometry comprising vertices and faces using an Extrude method, the extrusion value can be set before the conversion starts. If the DXF file contains color information this will be included where possible.

Description

The FAX file format introduced in the 1990's is a raster image file format intended to store digital versions of documents used by Fax (facsimile) machines that were popular at the time.

Although Fax machines have been slowly replaced since then by internet based communications such as Email and Instant Messaging the FAX file format is still used for certain applications and the files can be edited within some 3rd party applications.
