Use our free and fast online tool to convert your BMP (Bitmap Image File) image or logo into 3D DAE (COLLADA - Collaborative Design Activity) mesh/model files suitable for printing with a 3D printer or for loading into your favourite 3D editing package.
Here are 3 simple steps to create an DAE file from a BMP file.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your BMP file to upload. Select any configuration options. When the BMP to DAE conversion has completed, you can download your DAE file straight away.
We aim to process all BMP to DAE conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds but can be more for larger more complex files so please be patient.
We aim to create the most accurate conversions with our tools. Our tools are under constant development with new features being added every week.
Yes, of course! We do not store the BMP file you submit to us. The resulting DAE file, once created is deleted 1 hour after upload and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our BMP to DAE tool will run on any system with a modern web browser. No specialist software is needed to run any of our conversion tools.
Extension: BMP
Full Name: Bitmap Image File
Type: Image
Mime Type: image/bmp
Format: Binary
The BMP file format is a two dimensional image file format popular on Microsoft Windows operating systems. Data is stored in the BMP file in a raster format with pixels being represented using various colour depths ranging from monocrome 1-bit per pixel (bpp) to full color 24-bits per pixel.
The format can also contain an image alpha channel which is typically 8 bits per pixel in size and is used to describe image transparency. BMP files can also optionally be compressed using a lossless compression algorithm meaning smaller files with no loss of image quality.
Extension: DAE
Full Name: COLLADA - Collaborative Design Activity
Type: 3D Model
Mime Type: text/xml
Format: Text
The DAE format (also known as COLLADA) is a 3D file format used to describe 3D models, meshes and 3D worlds using a simple text based structure. The format was introduced in 2004 by Sony Computer Entertainment and is currently managed by the Khronos Group.
DAE files are a text/Xml based file format containing 3D geometric information used to describe 3D objects and meshes such as vertices, faces, animations, materials, camera/lighting elements and other related metadata. The format has widespread usage and support with applications such as Blender and MeshLab being able to read and write to the format.
DAE files support material and color information. If your uploaded model contains color information our tool will attempt to save this in the DAE file at the end of the conversion process. Texture information is not supported at this time.
